I had a sucky
writing morning yesterday. It sucked
arse. ::sniffle:: but then I heard the following script in a PlayStation commercial (http://youtu.be/QOdW1OuZ1U0
Who are you not to be great?
You, with the imagination of a brilliant child and the
powers of an ancient god.
Who are you to be ordinary?
You, who can resend life, or raise the dead.
Who are you to be afraid? You, who can serve as judge and
jury while hoarding infinite lives.
Or who are you to be a slave to the past? You, who can
travel time like the oceans, and rewrite history with a single word.
Who are you to be anonymous? You, who’s name should be
spoken in reverent tones, or in terrified whispers.
And who are you to deny greatness? If you would deny it to
yourself, you would deny it to the entire world. And we will not be denied.
I believe we should take inspiration where ever we can find it. And this poem-yes, i said poem- is inspiring and beautiful. No, I don’t play video games. I can’t resend life or raise the dead, but I owe it to myself to be great. I should not deny myself or the world my greatness. <—I am channeling Kanye West right now. Haha
My favoirte line is “who are you to be a slave to the past?” I’ve made some
really big mistakes in the past that haunt me today, but they shouldn’t. It goes both ways: I’v also accomplished lots in my past. But
that’s in my past what have I done today? What will I do tomorrow? Answer: Wake My Ass Up and Write.
Anyways…Go BE GREAT!
