My
upcoming nano is supposed to by the third and final book of my YA fantasy
series.  But I’m not feeling it.  It doesn’t have a hook.   I know everyone will end up happily ever
after, but so what.  That’s obvious.  There is nothing fun about writing a book
just to create a happy ending.  So there
will be nano-ing for me this year.
Instead, I will work on Book 2 and I’m pretty sure by torturing my
characters in Book 2, I’ll think of some unique way to torture them for book 3 and still think of
a happy ending.
So for the
seasoned writers out there, how do you tie up your series?  How do you make a happily-ever-after ending
that is not be boring and predictable?
