Most of my main characters are male.  According to a male beta reader, I’m not especially good at writing from a male POV and I have to agree with him. That doesn’t mean I can’t eventually master it.
So I’m left to ponder why are my male characters male?  Well here are some possible meanings.
1. Most of my favorite stories I read as a juvenile were told from a male POV (The Earthsea Series by Ursula K. Le Guin, and The Legend of Drizzt by R.A. Salvatore).
2. I did not particularly like
being a girl. I don’t want to say I identified with being
a boy, but I never felt
feminine until later in life.    When I hit puberty in high school, I realized just how much power I had as woman ( that is I learned just how far men will go to get at your goodies).  However, I didn’t like being a girl
until I had my daughter and got to play around with hair and pink things
(people still thought she was as a boy and she was big and had the nick
name Debo).

So… those are two possible reasons I my novels from a male POV. Who knows if there is any substance to it.  I don’t mind too much.  I like boys.
